Backpack

Ash has a little backpack for going on hikes now. He can carry water bottles and some snacks. When I put the backpack on him, he could not understand what was happening to him. Suddenly he felt weight on his back, I guess. But he didn't shake the stuff down. Good! And the blue bandanna looks very good on him. How handsome he is! Are you ready for hiking, buddy?

Can't move

I always seem to bully Ash. I put his favorite biscuit on his nose and told him to "Wait". He didn't get what was happening and he didn't see where the biscuit was, even though he could smell it. His face in this moment makes me smile all the time. Why did he have to close his eyes like this? Did the biscuit scare him? Or "I" scared him? Anyway, this funny face of his is always endearing. How charming he is!

Punk Rock Baby

It has been raining really hard. There is nothing we can do because it is the rainy season in California now. When it is raining, I always let Ash stay inside my house, as not to make him wet. But sometimes Ash still goes outside to play in the rain. Of course he comes back inside...sopping wet... Wet Ash looks like a Punk Rock Musician. He has pointy, spunky punk rock hair. Do you play the guitar, Ash?

Bang

I started teaching Ash something new. I am teaching him to play dead. When I say "BANG!" with my 'Hand'gun, he hunches over to his side and dies. I started training him on this today. He already learned and mastered this. But he gives me the evil eye every single time I say "Bang!" I guess he doesn't like to die.

Run Away!

I found a snail in the back yard. I haven't seen them for years. Last time I saw them was when I was a high school student. So...that is at least 15 years ago. I have had a busy life, I guess I haven't paid much attention to nature.I enjoyed watching its movement for a while. But Ash came close to me and found it, too. Uh-oh....! Ash is curious in everything that moves.

"Run away! Quick, Snail!"

Heel-Day 4-

I am sure Ash completely understands "Heel". Because when I stop walking, he stops and sits. He now pays attention to me. When I run, he runs. When I slow down, he also slows down as well. That's great. He is such a smart boy. He learns everything quickly.

I gave him a treat after the training. "Ash, sit. stay..stay...stay..."

Ash always listens to me and waits for me allowing him to have the treat. Until I say "Good", he has to wait.

I could hear Ash was saying "Mommy...you hold me for too long." He stuck his tongue out and looked at me with his begging eyes.

How can you not give a treat to such a cute face...

Sneaking in

I can't believe this!
Ash sneaked in my landlord's house and tried to pee on his $2000 Stereo system. When Ash lifted his left leg to pee, my landlord realized the tragedy.

"NO!!! GET OUT HERE!!!!"
He jumped up, got out of the house and hid in the garage. He always does this when he has done something wrong and has been scolded.

But a minute later, he forgets everything, and comes back--wagging his tail. I wonder if he ever regrets what he has done.

Heel-day 3-

We tried "Heel" again.

When I say "heel" and start walking, he must walk on my left hand side. Not in front of me, behind me or on my right hand side. He must stay close to me and keep walking on my left hand side. When I stop, he must stop and sit without waiting for my command.

Today, finally, he could do "heel".

"Good Boy, Ash. You are wonderful!"
I scratched the back of his ears, and pet his chest. He loves to be touched there. Ah, I am very proud of him.

Heel -Day 2-

Me and Ash tried "Heel" again.
He got better than yesterday. When I said "Heel", he started walking with me and when I stopped, he stopped, too.

He stops and sits. But not on the left hand side of me. Looks like he is still confused. He thinks why he has to stop and sit when I stop.
He doesn't know why it must be on my left hand side.

Maybe tomorrow, he will get better than today.

Hopefully.

Heel

It is hard to teach Ash "Heel".
When I say "Heel", Ash must walk with me. And when I stop, he must stop walking and sit on my left hand side.

He didn't stop. He didn't sit. He even didn't pay attention to me. He was distracted by the children's voice, the noise of the street, and the grass and bugs.

I was so frustrated. How many times I say "No" to him today? He must have been frustrated, too.

Dreaming

My Little prince, Ash is 7 months old.
He started "Dog Obedience Training" with me last week.
It is just a 30 minutes training everyday, but I guess it's hard work for him. After the training, he falls asleep.

I play music for him while he is sleeping.
He turns his body once in a while. That makes me smile.

What are you dreaming, Ash?

My Little Prince

When I looked back, my prince was chewing my favorite shoe.

"NO!" I shouted.

He trembled and gave me "Sorry eyes".
He got bored because he can't go outside. It has been raining...so No hike yesterday. No hike today. No hike tomorrow, too...?

Hmmm...
But NO chewing my shoes, Honey!
